ESPERANDOTE - Words and Music by Rika Muranaka
Estoy soñando sí
Sólo imagino
Todo es real
Ojalá que asi lo fuera

Es sólo otro día
Otra noche fria
No sé si me buscas
O si me esperas

Puedo ver en tus ojos
Y también tu rostro
Quiero verme amada
Y dormirme abrazada
Dime que me quieres
Dilo por favor

No puedo dejarte
Y menos olvidarte
No puedo saber
Qué quieres de mi
Puedo tocarte
E incluso verte
Ven hacia mi

Vamos, más cerca...
Puedo sentirte
Tan cerca de mi

No me persigas
No lo soporto
¿Por qué me torturas?
¿Qué quieres de mí?

Dime quién eres
Dime dónde estás
¿Qué quieres de mí?
¿Qué necesitas de mí?

No puedo saberlo
¿Que quieres de mí?

No puedo dejarte
Y menos olvidarte
No punos saber
Qué quieres de mi
Puedo tocarte
E incluso verte
Ven hacia mí

Vamos, más cerca...
Puedos sentirte
Tan cerca de mi

No lo soporto
No me persigas
¿Por que me torturas?
¿Que quieres de mí?

Dime quién eres...
Dime dónde estás
¿Qué quieros de mí?
¿Qué necesitas de mí?

No puedo saberlo
¿Qué quieres de mí?

*POEM

Dime quién eres
Dime dónde estás
¿Qué quieres de mí?
¿Qué necesitas de mí?

Dime quién eres
Dime donde estás
Dime amor
Porqué me quieres
Que todavía me anhelas

Cuando te acercas
Muy cerca de mi
Puedo sentir tu dolor
Tu miedo y sfliccion

Yo no sé porqué
Desconozco la razón
Cuando te acercas
Muy cerca de mí

¿Nunca has sentido como si alguien te vigilara?
¿Nunca has sentido como si alguien te esperara?
¿Estoy soñando?
¿O sólo me lo imagino?

¡Ay amor!
Te esperaré toda la vida
Te esperaré hasta la muerte
Siempre...siempre...siempre...
Estoy amor...esperándote

This is by far one of the most brilliant soundtracks I have ever encountered. (And I'm a big soundtrack buff!) I'm one of those people that notices the music in a movie or game before anything else. There were times that I had to turn down the sound while playing because it was seriously scaring me! @_@
Akira Yamaoka conjures a symphony of things that go bump in the night, mysterious keyboards, tweaked electric guitars and heart pounding drums to create the perfect backdrop for your alluring nightmare. The soundtrack, although wonderfully creepy, also has it's tender moments as the plot unfolds. For example, Lisa's death is emotionally played in "Not Tomorrow 1" while a curious tune is played on the keyboard in "Claw Finger," wherein you meet Dahlia Gillespie.
The opening sequence theme, "Silent Hill" is expanded from what you hear during gameplay and at one emotional moment in the song, we hear the echo of a girl's painful cry...a stirring reminder of Alessa.
Relax, close your eyes, and let Akira Yamaoka take you back to Silent Hill over and over again.
Perhaps as the chilling tunes replay in your mind, you'll invision your own dark adventure in the town...

WHERE CAN I GET IT??
With Silent Hill 3 on the rise and Silent Hill 4 on its way, this first soundtrack is becoming harder and harder to find. Here are some places where I have seen it. And hey- if all else fails, do what I did - go to Ebay!

WAITING FOR YOU (Esperandote Translated)

I'm dreaming, yes
I only imagine
Everything is real
I'd like it were so

It's only another day
Another cold night
I don't know if you're looking for me
Or if you're waiting for me

I can see in your eyes
And also your face
I want to see me loved
And sleep embraced
Say that you love me
please, say it

I can't leave you
neither forget you
I can't know
That you want me
I can touch you
And even see you
They look towards me

Come on, closer...
I can feel you
So close to me

Don't follow me
I can't stand it
Why are you torturing me?
What do you want from me?

Tell me who you are
Tell me where you are
What do you want from me?
What do you need from me?

I can't know it
What do you want from me?

I can't leave you
neither forget you
We couldn't know
That you want me
I can touch you
And even see you
They look towards me

Come on, closer...
I can feel you
So close to me

I can't stand it
Don't follow me
Why are you torturing me?
What do you want from me?

*POEM
Tell me who you are
Tell me where you are
What do you want from me?
What do you need from me?

I can't know it
What do you want from me?

Tell me who you are
Tell me where you are
What do you want from me?
What do you need from me?

Tell me who you are
Tell me where you are
Tell me love (dear)
Why do you love me?
that my whole life you yearned for me

When you come closer
Very close to me
I can feel your pain
Your fear and suffering

I don't know why
I don't know the reason
When you come closer
Very close to me

Did you ever feel like someone is watching you?
Did you ever feel like someone is waiting for you?
Am I dreaming?
Or only imagining?

Oh love (dear)!
I could wait for you all my life
I could wait for you until death
Forever...forever...forever...

... I am, love (dear)... waiting for you

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT....could this song have inspired the story behind Silent Hill 2?

A Word from "Esperandote" composer Rika Muranaka
"When I was asked to write ending theme song for "Silent Hill" by sound director Mr. Yamaoka few months ago, I was thrilled! When I first had an opportunity to see a portion of the "Silent Hill" game at the Konami's development room, I was very much fascinated. The computer graphics and the movement of the characters were so real, and scarily. The experience was almost like watching the real person acting and talking, just like a Hollywood movies. Hum..., after talking and discussing about the concept about the game, I suddently said to him, "How about Argentina? You know...band neon, violin and Spanish singer singing?" Then, he looked at me and after a short period of silence, he smiled at me said, "That's great! Let's make a tango!" And after that, I contacted the coordinator and my exciting and crazy journey to Buenos Aires begun.
However, after I told the staff that I wanted to go to Buenos Aires in Argentina, I had no idea where Argentina was. Also, I had no idea that I really needed to speak Spanish!! Well, I realized at the first time how far Argentina was by flying 13 and half hours to New York and then, another good 10 to 11 hours to Argentina. Oh, boy! It took me three days to get to the destination Argentina. Then, after I got to Argentina, I was totally shocked to find out that nobody could speak English! I thought everybody in the world understood and spoke English to some extent. But, I was wrong! I met the singer and the music director and strated to carry on a conversation in English and he looked at me and said, smiling, "kon ban wa!" (good evening) in Japanese! He came to Japan 24 times and spoke more Japanese than English.
Anyway, we had a serious problems. I wrote music in English and had a translator translated into Spanish words and melody time did not match. So, I had to play the song and he wanted me to change the song in five minutes. So, I played his keyboard and I had to make different melody line while he was saying Spanish words to me. So, I did. Somehow, I came up with the different idea and it fitted to the melody.
If you happened to be around in the Argentina, stop by at the Senour Tango and check out the show! The Tango show and musicians are out of this world! (Silent Hill's were performed by a member of the S. Tango) Ola! Buenos Aires....Thank you for great memory!"

Rika is also credited with her stirring music for Dracula X, Castlevania: Syphony of the Night and "Can't Say Goodbye to Yesterday," the ending theme from Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
